Sometimes I just like to say that for shock value. I’m also a pretty big fan of “EVERYTHING’S FALLING APART!” But that’s reserved for special circumstances.

So my life really is in shambles. Not even joking. I mean, a lot of good things are happening in my life, but pretty much yesterday was the worst day in my life. Not kidding at all. Here’s what happened…

7AM: I wake up and start catching up on some graphic design work that I put off the day before. My computer screen awaits me with the TurboTax calculation of what happened in 2008. I had stayed up until 1:30 the night before doing taxes, and it turns out… dun dun dun… I owe Uncle Sam a whopping $2,060.00! I am officially sending a letter to my congressmen asking for Hawaii to secede from the U.S..

Because it is no longer cool.

8AM: I receive a long-awaited email from Harvard Business School concerning my application to its DBA (Doctorate of Business Administration) program. After pacing around frantically for five minutes and trying to get my heart rate down to a survivable level, I open it up and read, “We regret to inform you…”

Dreams crushed.

10AM: I go to the doctor for a minor checkup (flu-ish symptoms). After a series of inreasingly worrisome questions the doctor announces, “You have diabetes!” Not even kidding. I have to go in for an official test tomorrow morning, and there’s a small chance that I don’t have it, but I fit about 90% of the symptoms. Kind of depressing news. Not at all what I was expecting to hear when I went to the doctor.

So I went home and didn’t do any work for the rest of the day. I looked up diabetes on Wikipedia, and it told me that one day my limbs will have to be amputated, I’ll go blind, and my brain will turn to mush. So much for that.

8PM: Instead of Fringe, my favorite show, American Idol comes on. I violently shout “What the CRAP!” at the TV, eat a pack of oreos to ensure that my blood sugar is at an all-time high, and go to bed.

Worst day ever.

So, I’m sorry that this blog post isn’t very funny. Or entertaining. (Or maybe it is to some!). But it’s been a rough couple of days, and I’m not in a creative mood. My apologies.

Oh yeah, and I can’t get a bum to even beg me for money for the life of me. Much less do an interview. So no Bum Anthology this week either. Maybe I’ll have better luck this week. Or maybe I’ll just become a bum since HBS won’t take me and my limbs are due to fall off any moment now. Who needs school anyway. Or blood sugar. Or the government. That’s what I always say.

One happy note, though. I randomly met DJ Mars, the wildly famous DJ from the 90s. It was cool.
