This Is Why I Hate Outsourcing

Tagged Under : , , ,

These are screenshots of a guy I hired overseas to do data entry for me. He tried to charge me over 50 hours’ worth of “work.” When I reviewed his timelogs, this is what I found:

  • I don't blame you for hating out sourcing after what you've experienced.  But we're not the same. That guy should stop doing those things not only it's bad for our reputation but that is really unethical. You should only charge your clients on the hours that you spent on your work and don't ever charge your client for the hours that you didn't render for his/her projects. Honesty and being transparent are important traits that you need to have because if you don't possess that your not gonna last in this industry for sure.

I'd hate to be Odesk. That's a serious shame. At least they provide you that monitoring.
  • So, did you stick it to him?
  • Timelogs are amazing.

Hilarious. That's Odesk right? that's pretty cool how they screenshot that for you so at least you have a case. Any response from him yet?

P.S. The story gets worse. I looked through his logs over the past 3 weeks, and almost every day has been like this. He's been getting me deliverables, but incredibly slow. I finally decided to check out why so slow and... well there you have it.

Needless to say, I'm looking for someone else to help with my data entry now.

Any specs on your data entry and the deliverables?
I'm interested but I think we can worked outside of oDesk.
Just pay direct to me via Paypal?

My email is williamlim1974@yahoo.com.sg if you are interested.
I'll charged only for the hours I do work. I've got more integrity and work ethics than what your ex-freelance offered.
